A doozy of a drawing, this one is a tug on the heart. I was exploring the poison left from abandonment when it comes to matters of the heart.
When you know love in the form of conditions it gets confusing on how to heal and when to trust. I learned a lot about love through the expectation that I remain small and to not ask for what I needed. When I got big and started asking, I ended up in a whole new world of loss.
I like the visual this drawing brings to the dangers of conditional love. The battle between knowing you deserve better and the “comfort” of what you know.
A poisonous wasp represents major relationships filled with expectations and how harmful those have been. The body, naked, is my heart folding in to find safety. And lastly the hands, learning new ways to say no and falling into old patterns.
